Happy Fourth to all. With the upcoming election let's all see a renewed spirit, a new vision, peace and prosperity for our young little country.
Since baseball is after all America's past time here a little something for our Chicago Cubs and their series with The Cards this wekend:
Cubs vs Cards
Well if you break this down a bit....
A large furry mammal vs a tiny red-feathered bird. In total combat, I'm going with the bear. Sure the bird can fly and all, but still. Besides, birds fly into windows all the time. They are easily deceived. Makes me think that they are not playing with a full deck...thus their nickname..the Cards. Need I say anymore?
And what about the Arch? Yea I know it's "The Gateway to the West", but lets get real here. I think that was a building project gone awry.....simply ran out of funding and materials. Thus a half circle with a great marketing campaign...some outfit probably hired out of Chicago...."The Gateway to the West". Now the Sears Tower...that's a fucking building.....steel, iron & concrete with some chutzpah!
Sure St. Louis has ribs, but Chicago has pizza and hotdogs, besides who had the stockyards in the first place...Chicago. So you add it up, St. Louis has nothing.
St. Louis had some jazz back in the day, but now??? Chicago has Blues baby. Had it then and has it now. Always will. I rest my case.
Turns out, The Cubs did win today - 2-1.
Here are a couple of pics from our recent sailing trip. Enjoy!
Well I just returned from my first sailing trip. Four days spent touring in Northern Lake Michigan on a 41-foot boat. We traveled about 240 miles total. Definitely a lot of sail time for my first go around. I'm very grateful to my friends for asking me to go. They have been going on a sailing trip annually for about the past ten years and I felt honored they extended the offer to me, especially since my time on a sailboat totaled about 2-3 hours.
It's still pretty cool on the water up North this time of year, but we had clear days and a nice steady wind, so our days were quite full. If you have never traveled in this area, I highly recommend it whether it's via water or land. It is quite beautiful. Chicago Hog posted a map of where we traveled to get a better idea of where we were. I should have some pics of the trip to post within the week, once I have had a chance to go through them a bit.
Trips like this are often great as they provide perspective and act as a means for me to "ground" myself. On the water you have to be present.....here and now. For me, this is definitely a good place to be as my mind is often everywhere else but here. So a nice reminder to be in the moment. I also realize I need to visualize more, you know to see where I am headed and what I want to do. Create via intention if that makes sense to anyone.
That's all for now.
All is good. Be Well.

on Happy Fourth!
